Did You Know? PSA Project - Mrs. Cordes

A Public Service Announcement (PSA) is:

  • a short message that is meant to raise public awareness of a particular issue or concern.

  • promote programs, activities or services available.

  • educate the public on a specific topic. 

PSA's are:

  • short - 15 seconds to 1 minute.

  • attention grabbing.

  • memorable - include a tag line, for example "Now You Know!"

Creating a PSA:

  1. Choose a Topic

    • Exotic Pet

  2. Research

    • Find unusual facts/uses for these exotic pets that many may not know.

  3. Storyboard/Script

    • Attention Getter:  "Did You Know?"

    • Five to Seven Concise Facts

    • Closing Tag Line:  "Now You Know!"

  4. Find background images/videos for project (NOTE:  You should keep a record of your image /video sources to use in the credits of your PSA.)

  5. Film and Edit PSA Video

    • Record the green screen portion using an iPad in the green screen room.​

    • Edit entire PSA using WeVideo to put together the green screen portion with the background images and add text/transitions/etc.
